So, I am one semester away from graduating with an art degree from a small liberal arts college in GA. There are a few things that are helpful for artists to know, whether they are folk artists (no college degree) or professional artists (college degree). It helps to know that every gallery and school you submit work to wants an artist statement.
It helps to know what an artist biography should look like when it's written about you, as a living, working artist.
What does a press release need to look like if you do get a gallery show? What is the difference between a solo exhibition and a group show? How many pieces should there be in a portfolio presentation? Should it be on slides (what the hell are those), on a cd, or should be a powerpoint presentation?
These are the questions that I ponder as I get ever closer to my May graduation date!
